Online Access Programme 2020

OxFizz is working hard to support young people who are most in need during this challenging time. Young people face increasing uncertainty in their university applications and reduce opportunities to access high quality support as a result of COVID-19. Our work to support our young people to make strong applications to the best universities is needed more than ever.

What we’ve been doing

1.      We are moving our Access programme online. We normally support our 250 young people through face to face events. Now they can access guidance, resources and insights from students digitally;

2.      We are producing weekly newsletters sharing guidance around different stages of the application process, advice from current students and graduates and curating educational resources to enable young people to engage with their chosen subjects. You can view our newsletters here: Week 1, Week 2, Week 3; Week 4; Week 5.

3.      We are running Q&A sessions with young people, enabling volunteers to share their experiences and insights to help students plan the next steps in their applications;

4.      We are running subject-specific skill development sessions to help young people better understand the subject skills necessary for making successful applications;

5.      We are supporting our volunteers to be able to deliver advice and guidance for young people digitally;

6.      We are fundraising so that our programme of support can continue during this challenging time.
